WFCA Western Sunshine

June 2018

This year the weather was hot and sunny at the Wyre Forest Company of Archers Open Western tournament, a nice change from the rain we normally seem to get!

The tournament was well attended with archers from across the West Midlands and beyond.

Well done to all who shot and a special well done to all WFCA archers who won trophies and medals.

Results are now available on the Tournaments page.

National Records For Heike

Congratulations to WFCA junior archer Heike Palmer on breaking two national records – on 14th April scoring 622 at 40m at the Blow Away The Cobwebs shoot at Long Mynd Archers, and on 15th April scoring 412 on the Junior Warwick round at Droitwich Archery Club.

Heike has also been selected to represent England in the team for the Home Nations tournament which is being held during the JNOC on 7th July.

We wish her the very best of luck!

Freya Celebrates Success

Well done to Wyre Forest junior Archer Freya Palmer. She recently won the Dudley Youth Sports Award after being nominated by a teacher and received her award from Matt Windle (poet and professional boxer) at the awards ceremony.

Freya has also been selected as one of 12 Academy archers to attend an archery training camp in Dijon, France on 9th April, we’re sure this will be an amazing experience!
