If you are interested in taking up the sport of archery then why not enroll on one of our beginners courses? All courses are run by qualified Archery GB coaches and all the equipment you will need is provided.
Our courses are suitable for ages 10+. All juniors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
If you have a physical disability which you think might affect your ability to shoot, please contact us to discuss this before booking.
We normally run a taster session annually in April. This takes place indoors and comprises 30 minute sessions allowing you to try archery and discover if you’d like to take it further.
Have -A-Go Session
We attend various Fetes and other events during the year to host the archery-have-a-go stall. Dates for these events can be found on our Events page. Booking not required.
We run our archery beginners course annually in May. This takes place outdoors and is spread over several weeks with sessions on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Our coaches will teach you about different styles and bow types, safety and shooting etiquette. At the end of the course, you will be presented with a certificate of completion. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance by contacting the secretary.
Join the club
We are happy to accept new members who can demonstrate that they have completed a course either with WFCA or elsewhere, or archers who are members of GNAS and can produce a current membership card. If it has been a while since you last shot you may be asked to undertake a short assessment with one of our coaches.
For further information on course dates, availability, booking or on joining the club, please contact our Secretary, Pat on 01886 889242.
