February 2017

Wyre Forest again hosted a successful and well-attended open Portsmouth tournament on 12th February, this year at a new venue, the newly built Silverwoods Leisure Centre complex in Kidderminster. Congratulations to WFCA archers Lindsey and Heike for their wins in the ladies compound and U12 girls recurve categories.

Regional Junior Indoor Success for WFCA

February 2017

Quantum Archers recently hosted the Warwickshire Senior Championship and West Midlands Junior Championship in Handsworth, Birmingham.

In the CWAA senior competition, Karen McKay won the open ladies recurve category, taking home a gold medal.

In the WMAS junior competition, Freya Palmer was crowned girls recurve champion for 2017 and also won the U16 girls recurve category, Lauren Turner won the U14 girls recurve, Heike Palmer won the U12 girls recurve, Kurtis Dearn won the U14 boys recurve. Also shooting was Jasmine Simpson in the U16 girls recurve. Our juniors also won the team award with a lead of 189 points.

Worcestershire Inter-County Success

October 2016

Well done to Ridgewood High School pupils Freya and Heike Palmer of Wyre Forest Company of Archers who shot at the Junior Inter County Challenge hosted by Droitwich Archery Society. Freya was the top scorer in the junior ladies recurve category with 1252 with Heike top scoring in a Metric 5 with 1,091. These scores contributed to Worcestershire’s winning total of 6,868 comfortably beating Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Shropshire.

WFCA Essex & Redditch Success

August 2016

Three WFCA Archers competed at the Essex County Clout Championships. Andrew  won the silver shooting 165m bare bow, Jasmine won gold shooting 90m bare bow and Karen won gold shooting 125m recurve.

Team WFCA also shot at the RCOA Windsor tournament and won trophies and medals galore! Special congratulations to Kurtis for winning a gold medal in his first competition.

WFCA at SCOA Albion

August 2016

Several Wyre Forest Company of Archers members attended the SCOA Albion archery tournament on 14th June. It was a very calm and sunny day – some would say perfect shooting weather. Congratulations to Daniel on winning a 3rd place medal and to Scott and Lindsey on winning 2nd place medals in their respective categories. Continue reading
